The staff at the Misti House is composed of young locals and travelers from all over the world that all have something in common – they love the city they live in.
This means that every one of them is available to give exciting and useful tips about the things that interest you, from a local's point of view.
Music, nature, beaches, surfing, shows, art exhibits... this is the language of Rio de Janiero, and it's called 'The Marvelous City' because of its unique and irreverent character.
We also offer the best tours; from hang gliding to climbing, and nature hikes, to attending a soccer game in the famous Maracana stadium.
From the Misti House you can get to any part of Rio de Janeiro in just minutes, walking or taking advantage of the many buses or the metro that pass just down the street from the hostel.
The Misti House in Rio de Janiero offers shared and private rooms all painted in tropical colors and, of course, all of the linens are provided. It's a relaxed, comfortable and clean environment.
Our hostel in Rio has a very comfortable and open kitchen, a living room full of couches for hanging out, a bar, a rooftop terrace, a library, free wifi, computers and boardgames. All of this accompanied by the best music played by our staff (our music is our trademark).

Cancellation Policy
50% deposit is required to confirm and guarantee your reservation; the remainder is due on arrival at the hostel. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made 72 hours or less in advanced of your scheduled arrival time. It will remain under the hostel's discretion to refund deposits for booking changes made within the 72 hours period prior to arrival. (please see exceptions for Carnival and New Year packages)
Changes after arrival For changes on bookings after arrival, the subsequent period of 72 hours will not be refunded.
No Shows
In the case of 'no shows', deposits will not be refunded and the full amount for the transfer will be charged to the customer. Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 72 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival time.
El Misti Packages
* Cancellations for New Year's Packages:
Cancellations can be made before November 30th with a 100% refund of the total amount. After that date the amount that has been already paid will not be refunded. * Cancellations for Carnival Packages: Cancellations can be made before December, 31st with a 100% refund of the total amount. After that date the amount that has been already paid will not be refunded. Even if the booking engine allows you to book less nights at the normal rate, for the Carnival and New Year's Packages, your booking will not be valid if you do not book the whole package. Bookings for New Year or Carnival must be for the whole period of the package, any booking that breaks into the New Year's or Carnival dates will be automatically canceled and the deposit amount not refunded. You will be immediately contacted about the payment from the whole package.
Over-bookings
For reservations guaranteed with a 50% deposit or more at time of booking, rooms are held until hostel check-out time the day following arrival. In the event more guests arrive than can be accommodated due to hostel overbooking or an unforeseen circumstance, and the hostel is unable to hold rooms consistent with booking room hold policy, the hostel will attempt to accommodate guests, at its expense, at a comparable hostel in the area for the oversold night(s), and will pay for transportation to that hostel.
Improvements
In our strive to improve and upgrade our facilities to satisfy all our guest, El Misti Hostel sometimes undergoes refurbishment work in some parts of the hostel. We do our best to ensure guests will not be affected by the renovations but please be aware of the latter possibility. |
